چکیده

This paper addresses the classical graph partitioning problem applied to the air network : One considers an air transportation network with aircraft inducing a control workload. This network has to be partitioned into K balanced sectors for which the cutting ow is minimized .

NLR - TP - 98279 Evolutionary 3 D - air traffic flow management

The increasing amount of air traffic requires more efficient use of airspace. One possible way to do this is to use a new planning model which is called the free-route model. New optimization tools are required to create a planning according to this type of model. We present an evolutionary tool to solve free-route Air Traffic Flow Management problems within a three-dimensional airspace. To the...

An efficient grid sectoring method for calculations of the near-field pressure generated by a circular piston.

An analytical expression is derived for time-harmonic calculations of the near-field pressure produced by a circular piston. The near-field pressure is described by an efficient integral that eliminates redundant calculations and subtracts the singularity, which in turn reduces the computation time and the peak numerical error. The resulting single integral expression is then combined with an a...

Computing Model of Airspace Utilization Rate Based on Airspace Load

A model for the computation of the airspace utilization rate is put forward to help the airspace manager assess the airspace usage effectively. Through proposing the concept of “airspace load”, the airspace resource is quantified and a new definition of the airspace utilization rate is introduced. Based on the new definition and the research about airspace capacity and air traffic flow manageme...

An Efficient Adaptive Cell Sectoring Technique for Non-Uniform Traffic in DS-CDMA Systems

Cell sectorization has been shown as a promising technique to improve the overall capacity in direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. It has been further demonstrated that the use of adaptive antenna arrays with dynamic cell sectoring is particularly suitable for non-uniformly distributed users. In this paper, we first re-formulate cell sectoring into an optimization pr...

Airspace Complexity and its Application in Air Traffic Management

Predicted growth in air traffic and the desire for more user preferred routes in the National Airspace System (NAS) will impose additional demand on air traffic control and management systems. This demand can be met by alternate airspace configurations, modified traffic patterns, and staff reassignment. There is a need to understand the effect of changing airspace configurations and traffic pat...
